Bijnor, March 25, 2025 – A chilling crime has rocked Uttar Pradesh’s Bijnor district, where Ankit Kumar, a resident of Nagina, allegedly conspired with his friend Sachin Kumar to kill his wife, Kiran, by running her over with a car. The motive? Ankit wanted to marry Kiran’s sister, who had refused him while he remained married.
The incident unfolded on March 8, when Ankit staged it as a road accident, claiming Kiran was hit by a speeding vehicle after he left her on the roadside to refuel his bike. But police grew suspicious, and CCTV footage revealed the car belonged to Sachin. Under interrogation, Ankit confessed: married for five years with no children, he plotted Kiran’s death after his sister-in-law rejected his proposal. Both accused are now in custody, facing charges under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
Kiran’s brother lodged the initial complaint, unraveling a tale of betrayal. “He planned it cold-bloodedly,” said Additional SP Vinay Kumar Singh. The case echoes a grim reality—personal disputes turning deadly, often masked as mishaps. In Bijnor alone, domestic violence cases spiked 15% in 2024 (Times of India). Here, the stakes were a twisted love story, leaving a family shattered and a community stunned.
